Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 25, 2026

1. Introduction

Unicore (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a privacy-first AI client for macOS (the “App”).

Your privacy is fundamental to how Unicore is designed. The App is built to minimize data collection and give users control over how and where their data is processed.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and your rights.

2. What Unicore Does

Unicore is a macOS application that allows users to connect to third-party AI providers using their own API keys, and optionally to local AI models running on their device.

Unicore does not operate its own AI models or process AI requests on its own servers unless explicitly stated.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Stored Locally

The following data may be stored locally on your device:

  • Chat conversations

  • Prompt history

  • App preferences and settings

  • Model configuration settings

  • API keys (stored securely in macOS Keychain)

This information remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

3.2 Information We Do Not Collect

Unicore does not:

  • Collect your chat conversations on our servers

  • Store your API keys on our servers

  • Track your prompts

  • Sell personal data

  • Run background analytics that monitor your content

3.3 Optional Analytics (If Enabled)

If you enable optional diagnostics or analytics, we may collect limited, anonymized technical data such as:

  • App version

  • macOS version

  • Crash reports

  • Performance diagnostics

This data does not include chat content, prompts, or API keys.

You can disable analytics at any time in the App settings.

4. Third-Party AI Providers

When you connect Unicore to an AI provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or others), your prompts and responses are sent directly from your device to that provider using your API key.

Your use of those providers is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

We encourage you to review their policies before using their services.

5. Local AI Models

If you choose to use local AI models (e.g., via Ollama or other local runtime environments), all processing occurs entirely on your device.

In this case, no data is transmitted to any external servers unless you explicitly configure it.

6. Data Security

We use standard macOS security mechanisms, including:

  • Secure storage via macOS Keychain for API keys

  • Sandboxed app environment (where applicable)

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all API communications

However, no software can guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Because chat history and configuration are stored locally on your device:

  • You control retention.

  • Deleting conversations in the App removes them from local storage.

  • Uninstalling the App removes associated local data (except items retained by macOS Keychain unless manually deleted).

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA, UK, California, etc.), you may have rights such as:

  • Access to your personal data

  • Correction of inaccurate data

  • Deletion of personal data

  • Restriction of processing

  • Data portability

Since Unicore does not store user content on its servers, most data control actions can be performed directly within the App.

9. Children’s Privacy

Unicore is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International Users

Unicore may be used globally. If optional diagnostics are enabled, anonymized technical data may be processed in jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
